WORKS

We are not saved by WORKS, but our works demonstrate our LOVE for our Master, Jesus Christ.

2nd Timothy 1:9=Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Romans 4:1-8 1=What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 2=For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3=For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.  4=Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.  5=But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 6=Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, 7=Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.  8=Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
When we do works (as one who hires out to an employer expecting wages in return) to earn our righteousness  (the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.) we are looking towards our own ACTS and efforts to earn our righteousness, denying our faith in the ACT of Christ on the cross...His flesh for ours...(GRACE).  His Grace which covers us and gives us Eternal Life...and His Righteousness.

That is why if we believe we can work our way into righteousness we are just working our way deeper into debt.....because we are looking more and more towards our own efforts and not having faith on the ACT and Mystery of CHRIST.  It is the Grace of Jesus Christ that saves us, not our works.  Ego is Sin....self will.

Does this mean we should not do works?  NO and YES!  "No", if we are doing them to earn something...such as our salvation.  "Yes", if we are sharing the love given us through Christ's ACT.  If we are helping others without expecting anything in return (not glory in Heaven) for our own gain.  When we love the Master, we want to do things for the Master to return our love to Him.....putting OTHERS (those our Master also loves)  before OURSELVES is one of the best ways to return our love to the Master.  Our Daily Sacrifice of self becomes a gift to Him, just as the death of Jesus Christ on the cross was a GIFT to us.

Romans 3: 19-31 19=Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.  20=Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his (God's) sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21=But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22=Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:  23=For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  24=Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:  25=Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;  26=To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.  27=Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.   28=Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.  29=Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:  30=Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.  31=Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law

We are not saved by WORKS, but our works demonstrate our LOVE for our Master, Jesus Christ.

Philippians 1:6=Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: (Christ first loved us....and that was the beginning of a "good work" in us....and His love will stay with us, conforming us to His image.)

Revelations 22:12=(Jesus Speaking) And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. (When Christ returns at the End of Days when the 7th trump sounds...He will give to us, according to what we have given to His people....our love and assistance.)

James 1:17=Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. We can rest assured that what He gives us will be beyond value....and His evaluation of us will be JUST and TRUE.

2nd Corinthians 4:6=For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

John 14: 12=(Jesus speaking) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.  After Jesus ascended unto HEAVEN, after rising from the dead, and walking with His Apostles for 40 days, He sent to us the HOLY SPIRIT to empower us, which will have full magnitude as we become conformed to His Likeness, especially when we endure to the end and are transfigured and flesh no more is a hindrance to us.

Ephesians 3: 16-20=That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;  That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;  And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Romans 8: 35-39=Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.  or sword?  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
